Welcome to Christina's Blog Site!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the blog site dedicated solely to our lovely Christina! The hope is that this website will be used as a way for friends and family to stay updated on her health and progress throughout the upcoming months and to send messages of love and support to Christina and her wonderful family during this time as well. She will be reading every message so please flood her inbox as much as possible!

Please also give thanks to my amazing mother for the idea. She is very close to Christina and is truly hoping that this outlet will open up the floodgates of love and support.

If there are any questions about using this site, please contact me directly using the email address listed below. Although I'm just learning about this site myself and am a first-time blogger, I am hoping the set up is simple enough for everyone to use. (Crossing my fingers)

Love,

Vanessa Joyce

Hi Aunt Christina,

Aren't these things so cool?! I think this is a great idea (and thanks to Vanessa for setting it up). It'll be fun to stay updated on what's going on in your life and such. I look forward to your first post!

Hi Christina (and many thanks to Vanessa and Bernie!)

This is such a wonderful idea, and I look forward to reading your posts. I wish that I was able to visit more frequently, but I very much appreciate this way to stay connected despite the geographical distance. I really enjoyed seeing "Marley and Me" with you and mom during Christmas - although it left me wanting a puppy of my own! I hope that you are doing well and enjoying visits from friends and family.

Love,
Bridget

Hi Christina! Very cool of Vanessa to set this up so we can all stay in better touch with you. I think Bonnie and I are going to come up for a visit on Sunday so hopefully I'll be seeing you then. xoxo, Erica

Hi Christina!

I am so excited about this blog that Vanessa and Bernie set up (thanks guys)! Nathan's birthday party was last Sunday at ChuckECheese and it was really nice, but we missed you being there. I hope you are feeling a little bit better since the chemo stopped...I know how hard that was on you. Everyone loves you so much and keeps you in their thoughts and prayers all the time. I wanted to call you last weekend, but it was so hectic with the kids....it always is...I have just become used to chaos at this point in my life...but it's a good chaos! I am going to visit you with Bernie and Natalie hopefully on Monday and I'm hoping that Joe will be able to watch the kids at home...it will be a more peaceful visit if I don't bring the little ones. We can't wait to see you. I love you!

Love, Jennifer

Hello Christina,

I am so happy to be able to be a part of your blog! I believe that the last time we saw each other was at my parents' 55th wedding anniversary party in Oceanside. It was so great to see you! Thank you for providing another example of a long-term marriage!

To catch you up on us, my parents now live with my brother Paul in Rancho Santa Margarita. My niece Pamela is engaged to be married on May 30. My husband and I just bought a farmette in northern Virginia, a 12 acre fixer-upper that should be a lot of fun. Our eldest, Lauren, is in grad school in Boston. Our second, Katy, graduated from Notre Dame and is an Air Force second lieutenant. Our boys are in the middle of 8th and 6th grades.

I'm looking forward to reading the entries on your blog!

Hi Christina! Wow look at all these comments you have already...you are very loved! I had so much fun last time we had lunch and went shopping together. I'm so glad you pursauded me to buy that picture of my favorite quote "Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away." Everytime I look at it, it reminds me of you! I am coming up to see you on Monday...can't wait!

Love, Natalie

Thank you Vanessa, for setting up this site. It's great. Christina, I had such a wonderful visit with you two weeks ago. We had so many laughs and a wonderful talk about life and my upcoming marriage! I'm looking forward to seeing you at my wedding soon! I don't think I work on Monday, due to the holiday, so I will come up with the girls.

Love you,
Tina

Hi Christina -

This is a terrific idea! What a great way to stay in touch with "your people" from everywhere.

I got back from Thailand late Sunday night, and am still getting over the jet lag. I am going to come see you Friday afternoon, and if you are game, will bore you silly with talk about my trip. I may even bring pictures via my laptop.

Know that every day on my trip I thought of you. I am glad that you are being surrounded by those that love you - there is no on e more deserving.

See you Friday, Christina!

Love,

Patti

I too think this a grand idea!

Chistina, you are a tough woman, and also very caring about everyone, and everything that matters in life. When I think of you, I always see your smiling face.

I hope to see you soon. When John is feeling a little better, we will definetly make it to Ventura.

I send all my love, and always my prayers.

You're the GREATEST! Love, Eileen

Hi Christina,

I'm so glad my mom visited yesterday to show you this site! I think she told you already that I got tears of joy in my eyes when she told me that you were commenting on your page when she called me at work. It means so much to both of us that this site might be a way to make you smile and feel loved from everyone during this tough time.

I think about you every day and can't wait to see you soon. Like many of the other girls, I plan on coming to visit you Monday as well so we hopefully can check out the site together...maybe even read some of the wonderful comments that people have already posted. We all love you so much.

Take care of yourself. And I'll see you soon.

Love you,

Vanessa

Hey Christina, I hope this finds you well and in good sprits. I just had to tell you hi, and that I saw your beautiful daughter today. She was very respectful and took the time to stop and talk to me even though it might have embarrassed her in front of her friends. You should be very proud to have such a daughter in these difficult times we live in.
ps

Howdy,
Look at Vanessa, the super cyber blogger setter-upper girl! That visual effects stuff is rubbing off on her. Nice. Jen was talking about heading your way on Monday too. Did she tell you we repainted our living room? No longer Red. An earthy green but you would like it. Our real estate agent says "neutral color" soooo had to be done. Nathan had a great time at Chucky Cheese last Sunday, except the actual guy in the Chucky suit scared him and made him cry while we sang Happy Birthday, but otherwise great time. We certainly missed having you to hang with though! Alright, cool site.

love,
joe

And a wonderful family you are. Thank you Bernie and thank you for Vanessa for the wonderful gift you have given Christina in this blog.

Christina,

This is wonderful. I look forward to checking in on you and hearing the good news while keeping your spirits up. I'm even thinking another poem is in order, so keep an eye out. You are in both Katie and my thoughts and prayers. Be safe, be happy, be Christina.

With love always,

Jeff and Kate

Dear Christina,

Happy Valentines Day! While making a Valentine yesterday, I was for some reason reminded of something special that you did for me on Easter when I was a little girl. I think that I was visiting with my Dad, and we had just watched Patrick compete in a Tae Kwon Do competition. We arrived back at your place very, very late on Easter - way past my bedtime. I was a little bit sad about having missed the traditional Easter festivities. Imagine my surprise when Paul showed me where I would be sleeping, and there was a big Easter basket there for me that you had prepared. That was such a wonderful and thoughtful thing to do, and it made me feel like such a special kid :) Hope you are enjoying the holiday, and visits from all those who love you.

Love,
Bridget

Hi Christina,

we hope that you are doing well and wanted to send you loving thoughts and prayers from Costa Rica.

We are still working the farm every day, feeding pigs, milking cows and plucking chickens. This is slowly getting old, and we are pondering ideas for a new adventure. We'll keep you posted.

Love,
Gary and Gundi

PS: Bernie and Vanessa - this is such a great idea to be able to stay in contact - thank you!!

Hi Christina,
I got your address from Vanessa (thank you Vanessa and Bernie, for setting this up). I will come over and get Missy tomorrow morning if it is not raining and see if I can get rid of some of that excess energy of hers. And then I will be over to make you lunch; I made you some lentil soup that I hope you will enjoy. See you tomorrow...I always enjoy spending part of my week with you.
Love,
Jamie

Hi Christina,

It was great seeing you on Monday! It was so much fun with all of us girls there chatting.

I was just reading something Bridget had written to you about a memorable Easter and it reminded me of special times over the years...like when Tina and I visited one summer for a week (many years ago when Patrick was still a toddler) and we went on bike rides and to the beach, shopping, etc. I remember you making delicious brownies! And I remember Paul buying ice-cream for us to eat while we watched movies at night. I remember you teaching me how to knit and how to braid my hair. I could go on and on....

Looking forward to seeing you again soon!

Love,
Jennifer Conmy

Christina- I didn't know you made Swedish pancakes. I love pancakes with lots of maple syrup. I've had your swedish meatballs, cookies, chocolates, etc. but never the pancakes. Maybe we should have a special pancake breakfast at your house for the whole family. I'm sure Paul and Gary would be happy to clean up the mess afterwards.
Gary, Paul and I visited John over the weekend while he was recovering from surgery. We ate a big Italian dinner that Eileen cooked and watched a movie together on his new 52" TV. John couldn't eat solids yet so he broke open a can of Ensure. I talked to him yesterday. He is now eating solids again. So he was happy he escaped the feeding tube. Expect to see you soon. Love, Steve

Hi Christina -

Wanted to say hello - another week gone by already! I was thinking about brining over my laptop so I can show you some pictures taken in Thailand. Still can't seem to get any elephant shots, but I do have some being in the cage with the tigers! Basically, it felt like hanging out with very large dogs.

Hope the rain has ended for awhile in Ventura and that you are hearing the birds outside your window -

Love,

Patti

Hi Christina- It's Sunday and what a beautiful day it is today. The weather made me think of you. I know how you love the outdoors, blue skies and sunshine. Paul said yesterday he was going to mow the front and back yard so I'm hoping you will get a chance to go outdoors today and enjoy your back yard. Thinking of you all the time and expect to see you soon. Love, Steve
